Beyond its denomination, DocuRock is open to any documentary of musical thematic, whether rock, rap, jazz, hip-hop, soul, pop, reggae…
All films must have been completed after January 1st 2015.
Each contestant may not submit more than one documentary film.
Besides the film, the following documents must be attached:
- Two movie frames (minimum resolution 300 dpi)
- Cartel of the film (minimum resolution 300 dpi)
- A photograph of the director
- Director’s Biofilmography
- Complete technical sheet
- Dialogue list
Docurock demands as projection formats HD video file or professional video (BluRay). Selected films must submit a screening copy with Spanish subtitles (when Spanish is not the original language). If this condition is not fulfilled they will be rejected.
DocuRock features four competitive sections:
a) Feature-length documentary, with a minimum of 30 minutes running-time. The amount of this prize is € 1.250. The prize will be object of the corresponding interim tax retention in accordance with I.R.P.F. regulations.
b) Best documentation search, with a minimum of 30 minutes running-time. The amount of this prize is € 500. The prize will be object of the corresponding interim tax retention in accordance with I.R.P.F. regulations. This award can be declared deserted.
c) Best Canarian audiovisual piece. The amount of this prize is € 500 It will last at least 10 minutes and a maximum of 29 minutes. In order for this award to be carried out, a minimum of five works must be submitted. The prize will be object of the corresponding interim tax retention in accordance with I.R.P.F. regulations.
d) People’s Choice Award, with a minimum of 30 minutes running-time. This award does not carry a cash prize but an accrediting diploma.
e) This award cab be declared deserted.
Titles in competition cannot receive more than one award. Therefore all four sections will have four diferents winners.
Once the failure is notified to the producers, they have 15 days to accept it and issue the corresponding invoice.
There will not be ex-aequo winners.
Registration period will be open on June 15, 2017. Registration deadline is July 31, 2017 at 23:59 (local hour).
Films shall not have been previously screened in open national television or Internet (except payment platforms), but may have been shown in other film festivals. The films have been exhibited in regional TV only if they can participate.
The selection of films will be carried out by DocuRock Selection Committee and its decision shall be imperative.
After selection process has concluded, the outcome will be communicated to all participants, whether selected or not, through festival website www.docurock.es, www.movibeta.com, www.clickforfestivals.com and www.festhome.com platform.
Selected films will receive an email confirming selection. A professional copy of the film with subtitles in Spanish will be required as well as necessary documentation for the payment of awards in the event that the film shall be rewarded. The documentation to be submitted will be DNI or CIF and banking account data in the case of Spanish citizens or residents, and bank accreditation and passport in case of foreign nationals.
The jury will be composed by well-known personalities of the audiovisual medium.
No person having taken part as author, director or producer in a film in competition may be on the Jury.
Awarded films production company must use DocuRock’s logotype on all their promotional material.
All screenings will be free of charge and non-profit-making.
Once the film has been selected to participate in DocuRock Official Competition Section, a digital file not exceed 20 GB must be send to the organization of the Festival by uploading through www.movibeta.com, www.clickforfestivals.com and www.festhome.com including a two-minute maximum trailer of the film with Spanish subtitles, at least 30 days before the starting date of the Festival. The event will be held, from 27 to 29 October 2017 in the capital of Tenerife. Deliveries of screening copies by post mail will be no accepted.
Film’s producers will authorize the use of a fragment (3 minutes maximum) for dissemination in any medium. DocuRock may use photographs of works for press advertising, brochures, posters or other media.
Once a film has been registrated it cannot be withdrawn before its screening in DocuRock. The documentary will be screened once during the event. Likewise, the four winning films will be shown once again on the island of El Hierro, in a non-profit information pass, the month following its exhibition in Tenerife, with the aim of publicizing this type of cinema on an island that lacks of cinemas.
Participation in DocuRock implies full acceptance of the foregoing rules and regulations. In case of dispute, the cause shall be subject to Spanish legislation and jurisdiction.
